Village Scholars is a 2 day a week mixed-age, project-based program at Greenbriar Community School that blends hands-on learning, collaboration, leadership, and imaginative play within a living village environment. Rooted in creativity, autonomy and community, the program supports children through meaningful work, shared responsibility, and real-world experiences.
Core academics are naturally woven into the day through project-based learning in literacy, math, communication, civics, entrepreneurship, engineering, and critical thinking through authentic participation and guided mentorship.
Village Scholars also includes natural building, collaborative workshops, village meetings, storytelling, trade and economics, building projects, conflict resolution, and community gatherings that support creativity, confidence, and deep social connection.
We will be doing our own variation of Game of Village, a project based educational model based out of New Hampshire, and played around the world since the mid 1970s.
